This issue of Key Notes (1977/2) contains articles about a century of Dutch opera (1835–1940), an analysis of Hans Kox's opera 'Dorian Gray' based on Oscar Wilde, and a discussion of the opera 'Axel' based on a symbolist play with musical influences from Satie and Wagner. Furthermore, works by Ton de Leeuw and Hendrik Andriessen are discussed with bibliographic references to previous publications.
